CAREER JOURNEYS

I joined the Cornish Bakery in 2022 as a Bakery Manager opening a new site in Stamford. We had a very successful and rewarding first year. Following that and my passion for nourishing our colleagues, I moved across to the L&D team as an Operational Training Manager, in this role I have opened 7 new bakeries and enjoyed every moment of them. I am currently starting a new operational role as Area Manager and I am looking forward to many more new bakeries as we continue to grow at great speed.

I started with the Cornish Bakery in April 2023 as a Team Leader in the new bakery in Bakewell. I have had an amazing journey and have progressed twice. Starting as a Team Leader then with further development I was promoted into the Assistant Bakery Manager role and now the Bakery Manager position. I wish to continue my progression further within this business as it's one of the best places I've worked for!

I joined the Cornish Bakery in May 2022 as a Team Member. It was meant to be a stopgap until I found a ’proper job’. From day one I loved it and quickly became passionate about everything Cornish Bakery. After 10 weeks I became a Team Leader and another 3 months on I progressed to Assistant Manager. In this role I have also supported other bakeries throughout the estate which has been a fantastic experience and though it sounds corny, makes it feel like a true family. Cornish Bakery is far from the stop gap I planned. I love talking to our customers and hearing how much they enjoy the food, coffee and atmosphere in our bakeries. I am excited for my next step on my career journey and am soon to become the Manager of our new bakery in Cirencester which opens in early 2025. The internal training programme, support, and encouragement within Cornish Bakery is second to none. It is a joy to be part of such a supportive company that encourages me to be myself and aim high.

I joined Cornish Bakery in July 2018 and since joining I've had the great opportunity to travel round the country from Lyme Regis to Hastings, Keswick to York which is where I started my Cornish Bakery journey over 6 years ago. I have enjoyed seeing some wonderful parts of the country and meeting great colleagues and customers along the way. Whilst travelling it's been great to be part of a company where I have had the opportunity to grow my own skills and also inspire others to do the same.
